Holy Trinity Nursery Class
As many of you are aware, Tringham Pre-School closed in July and Holy Trinity put together a proposal to the Department of Education to gain permission to teach children under the age of 4 and to teach off site. In September we received the final formal notification that the Regional Director for DfE has approved our request to make a significant change to Holy Trinity CofE Primary School by lowering the age range from 4-11 years to 2-11 years with the addition of a new teacher-led nursery provision for 36 pupils at a satellite site, effective from January 2025. This is great news for our community and we are thrilled that we can add this to the Holy Trinity school provision. Our aim at this time is to open in January but as you can appreciate, there is a lot of work to be done in recruiting the right people and organising admissions in order to ensure a smooth, safe and efficient opening that is going to make a difference to children.
Our Nursery
The nursery will be led by a qualified Early Years Foundation Stage teacher and will follow the DfE Early Years Framework. The nursery teacher will be fully supported by our Early Years Leaders as well as our Headteacher at Holy Trinity School.
We believe:
- We can offer quality first nursery teaching by qualified teachers.
- We can impact positively on children's early development.
- Every child is an individual and develops at their own pace. It is essential that additional learning needs are identified early, and support put in place. The school SENCO who works closely with a range of agencies will spend time in the nursery observing children and working collaboratively with staff.
- We can establish a smooth transition from nursery into Reception and maximise learning opportunities.
-
The safeguarding of the children will be of paramount importance and will benefit from the expertise of our dedicated academy safeguarding team.
During sessions we will timetable plenty of discovery, free flow and child-led activities that incorporate a range of exploration, experimentation and opportunities for age-appropriate risk-taking. The nursery will be part of the school community and will have the opportunity to use the school's resources such as the library, sporting equipment as well as our vast outside learning environments. We are committed to utilising all the resources available to us to ensure the nursery meets and exceeds the expectations of all involved. We already have a team of passionate, dedicated staff in our school, and we will also be able to draw upon the expertise from the following:
- Expertise and infrastructure within The Alliance Multi-Academy Trust with many years' experience leading state nurseries.
- Local schools and nurseries
